Citribel already uses Sensorfact to monitor and reduce electricity and CO2 emissions in their main production facility. In order to jump-start their energy transition, Citribel decided to extend this with non-invasive water flow measurements to monitor water consumption and waste heat streams. One specific challenge was finding the best spot to install a heat pump. They partnered with Sensorfact to collect data about their water consumption and execute the analysis for this.
For Citribel, it was important that the sensors could be moved and installed conveniently, hence their choice for Sensorfact’s plug-and-play solution. They self-installed 22 energy sensors and 5 ultrasonic water sensors to continuously monitor electricity and cooling water streams. Installation was done without much effort and without any downtime.
After the implementation of the sensors and analysis of the collected data, Citribel was able to identify potentially valuable waste heat streams and map the entire cooling circuit. Additionally, Citribel was able to make a much better-informed CapEx decision regarding the placement of a heat pump.
Ruben Hoofwijk, process engineer at Citribel, reflects on the positive cooperation with Sensorfact:
“Data collection is the start of any energy transition. Sensorfact supports us in this exciting journey to lower our carbon footprint and work towards a sustainable future.”
